Lance Carpenter is back in his hometown to perform in the first ever Thunder on the Mountain Country Music Festival in Franklin County.

“This is my hometown in Ozark, Arkansas. So I could not be more proud to be a part of this event," said Carpenter.  "It’s going to be three days and Toby Keith, Justin Moore, Luke Bryan, Montgomery Gentry, Big and Rich. Just to be part of that lineup, I feel so blessed."

Carpenter taught himself how to play guitar in college at Arkansas Tech University, according to the artist lineup bio on Thunder on the Mountain website.

Carpenter will perform Saturday (June 8) at the Country Pavilion stage from 4:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

“I feel so blessed to be part of this lineup," he said. "I'm a professional songwriter in Nashville and just started recently doing the artist thing and I’m releasing an album this February.  I have a single going on the radio this month so, the timing is good. The Lord does his thing."
