The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved three bids for improvement projects in Benton, Crawford, and Franklin Counties.
In Benton County, crews will resurface six miles of Highway 12. The work will extend from just east of Orchard Drive to South Collins Avenue in Gentry, according to the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Division. Additional paving will extend from Highway 59 in Gentry to South Pleasant Valley Road east of Springtown.
APAC-Central, Inc. of Fayetteville, Arkansas was awarded the contract at $929,993.
Construction is scheduled to begin next month and should be complete by the fall.
In Washington County, APAC-Central was also awarded a $656,696.42 contract to resurface a little more than a mile of Highway 16 between Razorback Road and S. School Avenue. They will also S. School Avenue from Highway 16 to West Cato Springs Road in Fayetteville.
The company will also resurface a mile of Washington County Road 11 from Highway 45, northward toward Lincoln, according to the AHTD.
Washington County was awarded a $117,705.69 contract to resurface about a mile of Wyman Road from Zimmer Road, southward.
In Crawford County, two county road projects were approved. The first project involves resurfacing nearly two miles of Oliver Springs Road.
Forsgren, Inc. of Fort Smith was awarded the contract at $280,639.69.
Forsgren, Inc., was also awarded a contract at $599,861.15 to resurface two miles of Highway 64 in Mulberry. The work will begin east of Keystone Drive and move westward.
The project is funded by a state road aid program which provides $20 million annually from the state motor fuels tax to assist counties, according to the AHTD.
In Franklin County, Forsegren is also set to resurface 3.2 miles of Highway 23 from Highway 64 to just north of Interstate 40 in Ozark.
The company was awarded the contract at $785,635.35. Work should be complete by this fall.
