3 Hospitalized In I-540 Crash That Backs Up Rush-Hour Traffic

Three people were hospitalized when a two-vehicle wreck backed up rush-hour traffic Thursday on Interstate 540, according to emergency crews.

A passenger car and a pickup truck were involved in the crash near Rogers in the northbound lane of the interstate, near Exit 82. Two Rogers Emergency Medical Services ambulances were dispatched to the scene at about 4:30 p.m. and transported three people to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Rogers Fire Department.

The wreck caused major traffic congestion on the interstate during rush hour, and firefighters were urging motorists to avoid the location.
