Matt Vinson and Brandon Moore have each played their last game in a Arkansas Razorback uniform.

The River Valley natives have signed professional contracts and will head to the minor leagues this summer.

Moore, a native of Van Buren, had the choice of turning pro or returning for his senior season after being drafted in the 17th round by the Milwaukee Brewers. Moore made 25 relief appearances, which ranked second on the team, in 2013. He finished the season with a 1-4 record and a 2.68 ERA. In 47 innings, Moore only allowed 35 hits, holding opponents to a .215 batting average, and struck out 30 batters. He leaves Arkansas ranked tied for sixth in school history in career appearances.

With Moore officially gone, Arkansas loses 70 percent of its pitching production from 2013. The coaches now have to regroup and revamp the staff for 2014.

“I always feel for them this time of year,” said Moore. “This is the first time I’ve been a part of it. It is a tough time for them I feel for them but I know they’ll make the best decisions. They care about the players and put the best team on the field. So they’ll make those decisions.”

Vinson hails from neighboring Alma and was picked in the 37th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks. He made 56 starts during the 2013 season. The senior outfielder finished the year with a .286 batting average, two homers and 24 RBI.

Vinson finished his collegiate career with a .245 batting average, seven homers and 60 RBI in 179 games played, including 137 starts.
