Police are investigating the death of a Fayetteville baby, which was thought to be a case of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome last Friday (June 14). Detectives are still investigating the case as a SIDS death, although the baby was under review as an environmental neglect case a month before his death.
Jasean Williams was almost three months old when he died. The Arkansas Department of Human Services first started investigating Williams’ case in May as an environmental neglect case. A new investigation was launched Monday following the baby’s death, according to state Human Services records.
The case is open with the Fayetteville Police Department.
Williams’ name was added to the state’s child fatality list Wednesday.
