Gulbis Looking To Get Back On Track

Tour star looking to using Walmart Northwest Arkansas Championship as springboard.

The Walmart Northwest Arkansas Championship isn't lacking star power this week.

Pinnacle Country Club is hosting 18 of the top 20 female golfers in the world this week not to mention one of the biggest names in the sport, Natalie Gulbis.

Gulbis is one of the most recognized names and faces on the LPGA tour but despite her recent struggles, she says this course could help turn things around.

"I love this golf course," Gulbis said. "It`s a course that the first time I played it I always enjoyed playing it and it looks like it`s in fantastic shape and something I look forward to."

Gulbis took last week off after missing the cut at the Wegmans LPGA Championship two weeks ago. She is currently 87th on the tour's money list.

"I`m playing OK," Gulbis said. "I didn`t play too good in the last major so I had a nice week off to work on my golf game and I`m ready to put it to the test again."

Though some players could be looking ahead to next week's U.S. Open, Gulbis is staying focused on this week and Pinnacle Country Club.

"I treat each week as its own," Gulbis said. "I`ll worry about next week when we get there. This is a big event for us, big purse and just a venue I always enjoy coming to. Next week we`ll try to figure out the Open course."
