Police are investigating a case of vandalism at Fayetteville High School from over the weekend, in which carpet must be pulled up and replaced.
Someone broke into a new lecture hall at the Fayetteville High School over the weekend and discharged fire extinguishers in the room, according to the Fayetteville School District. The newly-installed carpet was also filled with carpet clue, workers found when they returned to the site Monday.
The cost of the damage is covered by construction insurance, said Alan Wilbourn, communication director for Fayetteville Public Schools.
The site is part of a major construction project by the school district to create new academic and student space.
