Whether it was a few days off worth the home run derby rubbed off, the Northwest Arkansas Naturals came out swinging Wednesday night.

The Naturals scored eight runs in the first three innings, including a three run home run by Matt Fields, to knock off Midland 9-5 at Arvest Ballpark.

Fields, who won the Home Run Derby Tuesday night, hit his 19th home run of the season over the left field bullpen and sent the Naturals on their way.

Chelsor Cuthbert started the offensive onslaught with a two run single to left in the first, putting the Rockhounds in an early hole. Manny Pina made the gap 7-0 in the third with a two run single then Orlando Calixte finished off the snowman as his RBI single to center drove in Pina.

Northwest Arkansas pounded out 12 hits and got RBI from five different players.

Aaron Brooks (3-1) picked up the win as he threw six innings while giving up two runs and struck out eight.
