Stanek Inks Deal With Rays

Stanek signs major league contract after being drafted No. 29 overall

Ryne Stanek is officially a former Arkansas Razorback.

The hard throwing right-hander signed with the Tampa Bay Rays Tuesday night for 1.758,300 after being picked No. 29th overall in last month's draft.

Stanek went 10-2 with a 1.39 ERA for the Razorbacks in 2013 as well as being named to multiple All-American teams. Stanek was 22-8 in his three year career with Arkansas while piling up a 2.55 ERA and struck out 203 in 254 innings.

Stanek was drafted in the third round by the Seattle Mariners out of high school but decided to attend Arkansas instead. He finished sixth in Razorbacks history in both career ERA and starts.
