When Pea Ridge takes the field this fall, not much is going to look familiar.

The Blackhawks have just one starter returning from last year's 10 win team and now they will be moving into a new stadium.

Tony Travis' squad will start the season with back-to-back road games but will play on a brand new artificial turf on Sept. 20 when they host Greenland.

"It's been in the planning process for a long time and they got started back in December and broke ground," Travis said. "We felt like it was going slow for a long time there was so much dirt work involved and a lot of things were coming along pretty slow. The last two weeks when the turf guys got here and it went down, it's just been 'boom'. It's amazing how much stuff has happened in two weeks."

Pea Ridge kicks off the 2013 season on Sept. 6 at Elkins.

The stadium will also house a brand new track along with a new scoreboard.

"There is a lot of excitement," Travis said. "A lot of people come by and have watched things going on the last couple of weeks. There has been a lot of action out here with the track and the bleachers going up."
