The Oakland Raiders begin training camp in 20 days. And that means Tyler Wilson is less than three weeks away from officially beginning his NFL career.

Wilson was in Fort Smith on Friday (July 5) for a promo shoot at J. Pauley Toyota but his mind was still on his first NFL training camp.

"You understand that it is important that you continue to maintain your body and everything that goes into the season," Wilson said. "That way when we get into training camp here in the next couple weeks you are ready to go and it's a lot different than college because you step into training camp and you've got a preseason game the next week. The season is right around the corner and I'm excited."

Fans will get a chance to catch Wilson in action on Aug. 9 when they host the Dallas Cowboys in their first preseason game.

Wilson will be in a three way battle for the quarterback position with the Raiders. Oakland traded for Matt Flynn earlier this offseason and Terrelle Pryor was the team's backup last season. Flynn and Pryor have 171 career passing attempts combined.

"It's been an eye opener experience playing in a new system and a new environment but it's been awesome," Wilson said. "I've enjoyed the challenge and everything that's gone through it. It's good to be back home and get a little bit of a break but continue to work on some things before we get into summer workouts."
