Christopher Holt, 34, and his wife Danna, appeared before Circuit Judge Gordon McCain on several drug charges including possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Holt’s bond was set at $20,000, while his wife’s was set at $3,500, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies stopped the vehicle driven by Holt around 6:30 p.m. for a traffic violation on Interstate 40. They were given permission to search the vehicle and the county’s K-9, Egan, alerted on two separate areas of the vehicle, the console and a speaker box, according to the sheriff’s office.
Inside the speaker box, deputies found baggies of meth. Deputies also found marijuana, syringes and other items of drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
The couple was taken to the Johnson County Detention Center.
A court date has been set for Sept. 6 in Johnson County Circuit Court.
The value of the suspected methamphetamine is between $10,000 and $12,000, according to the sheriff’s office.
