10-year-old Zander Betts from Atlanta, Georgia is being hailed as a hero after calling 911 when he noticed his mother having a seizure.
His mother, Karen Betts, is epileptic. When the boy saw his mother showing symptoms of a seizure, he called 911 and told the dispatcher what was happening to his mother and where emergency crews could find their house.
Last August, Betts’ mother was hospitalized for 9 days after suffering a seizure. Now, due to Zander’s quick actions she was released from the emergency room after only a few hours.
Atlanta Mayor Johnny Crist recognized Zander for his life-saving actions and gave him a special lapel pin during a city council meeting.
