A suspect and the victim in a Siloam Springs stabbing were hospitalized Tuesday night after getting into an altercation in a home just off of U.S. Highway 412, according to Siloam Springs police.

Police are investigating the stabbing on the 800 block of Mount Olive Street in Siloam Springs. Although two people were hospitalized, neither suffered life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

The suspect's family told 5NEWS the man accused in the stabbing is Gary Kindy. The suspect was later released from the hospital and transported to the Benton County Jail to be booked, authorities said.

The suspect's daughter told 5NEWS she believes Kindy, 53, was drunk at the time of the confrontation. Police said Kindy walked into a home on Mount Olive Street and stabbed a man named Timothy Long, 37, twice in the abdomen. An eyewitness responded by hitting Kindy in the head with a pipe before police arrived, according to family.

Long remained Tuesday night in intensive care at a local hospital, according to family.
