Mountainburg is going to have a completely different look when the 2013 season kicks off on Sept. 6.
Mainly because offensive lineman Josh Skattebo is now the team’s starting quarterback.
“Just getting used to switching. Instead of going from offensive line to second string quarterback I’ll just go straight to out to quarterback,” Skattebo said. “It’s going to be challenging but fun.”
Tom Harrell has racked up 117 wins at the school and he knows that his 300 pound quarterback is going to cause problems for opponents.
“He’s going to be tough to bring down,” Harrell said. “He’s the strongest kid we’ve got. Got a pretty decent arm. He squats 500 pounds, bench presses 330. Hey, we’re just going to try to run him up and see what we can get.”
The Dragons were bounced in the opening round of the playoffs at home last season but have spent the offseason looking to bounce back.
“At that big disappointment at the end of the year we kind of wanted to move on further this year and keep it going,” senior Dusty Willroth said.
“We really just tried to get as many people to come out as possible that way we could work together to really become a team,” senior Robert Nolan said.
Nolen had 25 receptions in 2012 for 353 yards and two touchdowns.
