Rogers Police arrested a man in connection with Tuesday’s robbery at the Conoco gas station on West Walnut Street.

Cody Austin Minks, 20, was arrested on charges of aggravated robbery, battery in the second degree, theft of property, fleeing, carrying a weapon and failure to comply with registry and reporting requirements, according to a release from the police department. Police found him in Bentonville.

Two others, Nicole Shawn Clement, 22, and Tevin Terrell Triplett, 21, were arrested and charged with hindering apprehension.

The arrests were made hours after the robbery occurred. All three were taken to the Benton County Jail.

The incident happened around 3:30 a.m. The store’s owner, Marley Mahmoodi, said the clerk working was mopping in the back at the time.

Security camera footage shows the suspect breaking open the cash register and stealing the cash inside, according to Mahmoodi.

Mahmoodi said the store had just upgraded its security cameras less than a week before the robbery. He said the suspect had his face covered, but removed the covering while taking the money, allowing police to get a good photo of the suspect from the footage.

When the suspect attempted to take off, the store’s owner said the employee working attempted to confront him. The two had a short fight.

The suspect pulled out a knife and slashed the employee in the hand, according to Mahmoodi. Rogers Police said the injury was not life threatening.

The Conoco has been at that location since 2006.  The store’s owner says this is the first robbery they’ve had.

“It was just a little bit of money,” said Mahmoodi. “I don’t really care at all and my employee is fine.”
