The 2013 season ended on a high note for the Subiaco Trojans as they pounded Dover 41-0. But scoring points was a problem the rest of the season.
Mike Berry enters another season at the helm of the Trojans as plenty of underclassmen are going to be counted on.
“What we really have to do is find some depth,” Berry said. “We know our key 15 guys that are going to play, a lot of them going both ways so now we’ve got to, these first two weeks try to find some more depth.”
Subiaco has six starters returning on each side of the football but even the experienced players know they are counting on the younger ones.
“We have to have some young guys step up and fill in the empty spots we have from last year,” Chris Post said.
“We need a lot of the younger guys to step up,” Cody Eveld said. “We need some of the young lineman to step up especially.”
Julius Lewis is the team’s leading rusher returning from last year’s team as he totaled more than 600 yards as a fullback in the team’s wing-T attack.
Subiaco kicks off the 2013 season against Decatur on Sept. 6.
