A single car accident in the River Valley killed two women Monday night (Aug. 13), authorities said.

The accident happened at the intersection of Highway 162 and North Cedar Avenue in Kibler around 9:30 p.m., according to Arkansas State Police.

"I heard a big boom and then another boom," said Glen Coldiron, who lives on the property where the accident happened. "I came out and smoke was going everywhere."

Coldiron said he saw a red Chevrolet car sitting on top of one of several boulders placed in his front yard.

" I checked the girls," Coldiron said. "They were both unconscious. Weak pulses on both of them."

Coldiron's daughter then called 911.

"Their car was completely demolished, the whole frame completely gone," Coldiron said.

Coldiron explained that the boulders had been placed there years ago by a previous homeowner to keep cars and trucks that failed to navigate the turn from running through the house.

"People come off that hill and they just speed," Coldiron said. "You've got signs everywhere that say 25. That really is a dangerous curve."

Coldiron said that if the boulders had not been there Monday night, the car would've crashed into his house.

"She could've easily come right through it and probably into my grand kids' bedroom," Coldiron said.

Authorities have not released the names of the two women who died in the crash. Stay with 5NEWS for more information as it becomes available.
