Muldrow won’t have the luxury of a ton of returning starters. Nor are the Bulldogs loaded with a large senior class.
Rob Johnson is entering his third season as the Bulldogs’ head coach and he said he is preaching family first.
“Our goal right now is to become one as a family,” Johnson said. “We are so young right now. Lots of underclassmen. We don’t have many seniors but they sure do work hard.>
Dominic Blue will be the Bulldogs go to player on the offense side and is getting looks from several Division I colleges. Though he will be the focal point, Blue knows he’s going to need help from the younger players on the team.
“For our young players to step up this year,” Blue said. “We are really young, lot of sophomores. Only a couple seniors but we are going to do our best.”
“Have all the underclassmen step up,” senior Clay Cowett said. “We don’t have very many seniors so mainly to get all the underclassmen to step up and have a good year.”
“They’ve got to learn to get over that hump,” Johnson said. “We’ve got to stay in it, stay healthy number one and we’ve got to stay in each game for four quarters.”
Muldrow will kick off in exactly three weeks when they travel to Roland for a Thursday night, Sept. 5 kickoff.
“We’re really excited,” Johnson said. “Three weeks from tonight we meet Roland at Roland and that place will be a packed house.”
