Fort Smith Boy On Bike Struck By Jeep

A 6-year-old boy sustained minor injuries after he was struck by a Jeep while he was riding his bicycle.

The Fort Smith Fire Department responded to the accident at around 8 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 18) on the 2500 block of North 41st Street. Officials said the boy had a sprained wrist but no broken bones.

Witnesses said the gold Jeep was driven by a woman, who got out to check on the boy's condition after hitting him. Officers said she left the scene after determining the boy was not seriously injured.

Fort Smith Police is investigating the accident.
