Six people, including two children, were hospitalized early Wednesday night (Aug. 21), in Rogers after a wreck halted traffic on Dixieland Road.

Emergency crews responded at about 6:30 p.m. to a serious traffic crash near the intersection of Dogwood Street and Dixieland Road. Six people were rushed away by ambulances---four to Northwest Medical Center in Springdale and two to Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, according to emergency crews at the scene.

Bryan Hinds with the Rogers Fire Department told 5NEWS that this was one of the worst accidents he has seen in the last few weeks.

One of the patients is in critical condition, while the other five are in serious or moderate-to-serious condition, Hinds told 5NEWS. The crash involved three vehicles, according to the Rogers Fire Department.

"You got to be careful, especially around these busy intersections, this time of day. Everyone is in a hurry to get home, but you really have to be mindful of the traffic around you", Hinds told 5NEWS.

Traffic on Dixieland Road going both directions, from Oak Street to Dogwood Street, was halted by police and emergency crews for about one hour. A passenger car and a van were both in the middle of the road with their front ends severely damaged.
