Suspects Accused of Stealing Meat

Police are looking for three people accused of stealing $600 worth of meat from a Fort Smith grocery store.

Two women and a man were caught on camera stealing high dollar steaks, briskets and hamburger meat at the Harps on 74th Street on two occasions in August.

Police say the suspects disguised the stolen merchandise with a child’s car seat.

“Red meat is pretty high, so I’ve also seen it’s being traded for rent,” said Sgt. Daniel Grubbs. “I’ve seen that they’re basically stealing and selling it on the streets at half the price and again when you didn’t pay for it in the first place, it’s a pretty decent little profit.”

The trio was seen taking off in a gray Lexus.

If you have any information call the River Valley Crime Stoppers at (479) 78-CRIME. Tips are anonymous and you may be eligible for a cash reward.
