After eight months, high school football returned in the state of Arkansas on Monday. And it ended with a tie.
Siloam Springs overcame a 21-point second half deficit to tie Shiloh Christian 35-35 at Razorback Stadium as part of the Simmons First Hooten’s Kickoff week.
The Saints (0-0-1) struck early and often as they built a 21-7 first half lead. Big plays were everywhere for Shiloh Christian as quarterback Daniel Shimer broke a 92-yard touchdown run. The Saints then got a 63 yard reverse pass as Chris Cox hit a wide open Adler Goode.
The Panthers roared back late as Chris Lampton threw a pair of touchdown passes late and then Siloam Springs got a huge play from their special teams. The Panthers blocked a punt in the final minute and Parker Baldwin scooped up the loose ball and returned it for the tying score.
