Rogers Police Arrest 71-Year-Old Sexual Assault Suspect

Robert Allen Edwards, 71, of Rogers, was arrested Friday (Sept. 6) by the Rogers Police Department on suspicion of second-degree sexual assault, according to a police department news release.

Edwards was investigated by Rogers police after it was alleged he had inappropriate sexual and physical contact with an 11-year-old female, according to the release. The victim has been in foster care for several years and was recently adopted by the suspect, the release states.

Edwards is being held at the Benton County Sheriff’s Office awaiting a bond hearing.
