A Bentonville school bus with children on board was involved in a two-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon after school. However, there were no injuries, according to a Bentonville School District spokeswoman.

Police responded shortly after 4 p.m. to the crash on Regional Airport Boulevard involving Bus #202, said Mary Ley, spokeswoman for the school district. Administrators also responded to examine the situation, she said.

Thirty-four high school students were on the bus at the time of the crash. Some were picked up by their parents, while others were transported home by another bus, according to the school district.

The area falls in the response area of Bentonville Emergency Medical Services, which did not respond to the call, according to emergency crews at Bentonville EMS.

School officials said a vehicle in front of the bus was set to turn right, but the motorist decided to make a U-turn instead. The vehicle crashed against the bus door, shattering the glass, according to the school district.
