Police are searching for the suspect in a stabbing that hospitalized one person Tuesday in Van Buren.
Local authorities responded to 109 Cane Hill Street in reference to a stabbing that resulted in an injury. The victim, identified as Rusty Howard by his sister Ashley, was rushed to Summit Medical Center, according to the Van Buren Police Department.
Howard's sister spoke to 5NEWS and says her brother's liver and bowels were punctured. He is expected to live, but there may be complications due to the damaged bowels.
Ashley said her brother’s friend stabbed him several times after an argument. Initially, she told 5NEWS the argument started over her pregnancy and who the father was.
Police have not identified the suspect. Dispatchers said early Wednesday morning they were still searching for a suspect.
One man, who was taken to Mercy with a broken nose, was interviewed in connection with the incident by police, however, no arrests have been made.
