A company from Texas is perpetrating a scam to collect $700 donations for T-shirts to benefit the Rogers Fire Department, the department warned Wednesday.
A Fort Worth company has been calling local businesses and asking for the donations. It is not authorized to solicit donations on the Rogers Fire Department’s behalf, according to the department. The company is promising businesses to place their logos on the shirts, in exchange for $700, according to the Rogers Fire Department.
The fire department warns that the calls are coming from two numbers: 817-863-5413 and 800-992-1872.
