LITTLE ROCK — The outgoing chief spokesman of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville is accusing school officials of intentionally destroying financial records about a fundraising unit that was cited by legislative auditors for poor management.

John Diamond told a legislative panel on Friday that Chancellor David Gearhart ordered the destruction of documents related to the Fayetteville school's Advancement Division. Gearhart denied Diamond's claims and said they were coming from a disgruntled, soon-to-be-former employee.
