Police in Bryant, Ark., arrested 32-year-old Cedric Cobbs Tuesday morning (Sept. 17) after he and another man allegedly tried to illegally obtain prescription pain pills.

Officers responded to Fred’s Pharmacy on Highway 5 after Cobb and Gary Hunt, 59, attempted to fill a forged prescription for 180 Roxicodone pills from a Little Rock doctor. When the two men saw the officers, they jumped into their vehicle and sped away. A Bryant officer attempted to pull him over and Cobb eventually stopped, according to a news release.

Cobbs was arrested on charges of conspiracy to obtain drugs by fraud, fleeing, and driving on a suspended driver’s license. Hunt was arrested on charges of forgery and other outstanding felony parole warrants out of Sherwood, Ark., according to a news release. Both men were taken to the Saline County Jail.

Cobb played football at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville between 1999-2003.
