Fayetteville School Board incumbent Susan Wilborn Heil defeated her challenger by more than 500 votes in Tuesday’s election.
Heil received 799 votes (75 percent) to challenger James McGinty’s 268 (25 percent), according to the Washington County Election Commission.
Heil was leading McGinty 147 votes (82 percent) to 33 (18 percent) in early voting totals, according to the election commission.
