Burger King unveils a healthier option in french fries today, with the addition of their new menu item, dubbed Satisfries.

Satisfries–which come in a smaller portion than a regular order–have 270 calories and 11 grams of fat per serving. Traditional fries come in with 340 calories and 15 grams of fat in the small serving size.

What’s different about these fries? What makes them “diet”?

Burger King reps state the ingredients are the exact same: same oil, potatoes, and the like. They say what makes these fries different is they way they ingredients are put together which in turn makes less oil be absorbed in the cooking process.

You’ll pay about 20 to 30 cents more for these fries, but the price will not change in kids meals. You’ll also notice the Satisfries are crinkle-cut, to help employees distinguish between the two.
