Northwest Arkansas:
Tontitown- Police shut down both lanes of Maestri Road, also known as Arkansas 112, from Gibbs Road to Har-Ber Avenue for about two hours this morning after a two-vehicle traffic accident.
Police responded to the scene at 6:26 a.m.
Authorities said a 2002 GMC Sierra Michael Harris Construction Company pickup was traveling northbound when the driver, Jose Gavarrete, crossed the center line.
Gavarrete’s truck collided with a southbound 2002 Chevy Tahoe driven by Oscar Cifuentes, police said.
Authorities said Gavarrete lost control of his work truck after the collision and ended up in a dried-up creek bed. He had a minor injury to his arm, but was not hospitalized.
No other injuries were reported.
Fayetteville-
There are two vehicle accidents on Wedington Drive. Firefighters and EMS are on the scene one accident. One accident is blocking traffic.
- Expect slowdowns near the Fulbright Expressway due to construction.
- The eastbound lane of Huntsville Road from Curtis Avenue to Happy Hollow Road will be closed from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. today. Crews are working to construct a new sidewalk along the south side of Huntsville Road.
River Valley:
I-540- Slowdowns are frequently expected from Van Buren to Fort Smith due to an ongoing highway improvement project.
The outside, northbound lane of I-540 will also be closed between Porter Road and the Highway 16/Hwy. 112 South (Wedington Road) interchange. The closures will be in effect from 8 p.m. – 6 a.m. until Friday, September 27.
Van Buren- Drivers should use caution driving on Rena Road due to construction.
