A Poteau man was arrested on drug trafficking charges Thursday (Sept. 26).
Authorities found half a pound of methamphetamine in 38-year-old Thomas Camargo’s vehicle at the Choctaw Casino. He was taken into custody and booked into the LeFlore County Jail, where he faces charges of trafficking an illegal drug.
Narcotics agents then executed a search warrant in the man’s room at the Poteau Inn on N. Broadway. Authorities say that’s where Camargo had been staying.
While inside the room, narcotics agents uncovered a few more grams of methamphetamine.
The arrest was a joint effort between the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, US Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs and Poteau police.
