Sequoyah County deputies have arrested a local man after he allegedly stabbed another man over an argument about food stamps.
Authorities arrested Darrell Ray Brown on Sunday in connection with the stabbing of Kevin Robinson, of Gore, Okla.
Brown was booked into the Sequoyah County Jail on suspicion of assault and battery with a deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of paraphernalia and fraud trafficking of food stamps. His bond was set at $18,000, according to the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Ron Lockhart said Robinson is recovering from his injuries at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, following the stabbing.
Lockhart said Brown stabbed Robinson once in the abdomen at a home near the Fin and Feather Resort. Brown was allegedly arguing with his mother about her not paying him back over food stamps. Robinson tried to intervene in the argument with a baseball bat, and Brown stabbed him, authorities said.
Robinson was flown to Tulsa by a medical helicopter after emergency crews were called to the scene.
