Fire crews in Mansfield are trying to determine what sparked a fire that destroyed a home early Monday morning.

Mansfield Fire Chief Mike Smith tells 5NEWS the first call came in about 2:30 a.m. about a structure fire at the corner of 4th Ave. and Fairfax St.

Mansfield firefighters were assisted by crews from Huntington and Hartford.

Smith says no one was injured, and no other structures were damaged, but the home was a total loss.

He says the owner is in bad health and had been living with relatives, but many of the owners belongings were still inside the house when it burned.

The investigation continues.
