Fort Smith police are looking to identify a couple in connection to two breaking and entering cases.

The man and woman, caught on surveillance video, are considered persons of interest after credit cards were used from stolen purses.

Police were called to the Malco Theatre on South Waldron October 8 after a victim said the passenger side window to his car was shattered while in a movie.  He told officers his companion’s purse was also missing from the vehicle.

Four days later, Fort Smith police responded to a breaking and entering call in the parking lot of the Dick’s Sporting Goods on Phoenix Avenue. The victim told officers the passenger side window was busted out while he was shopping. A purse was also stolen from the vehicle.

Shortly after both crimes, police say the victims discovered fraudulent purchases from their stolen debit and credit cards. The fraudulent purchases have been traced to Ozark, Clarksville, and Russellville.

Anyone with information about the persons of interest is asked to call the River Valley Crime Stoppers tip line at (479) 78-CRIME.
