Sallisaw Police Officer John Weber, who is accused of sleeping with an 18-year-old woman and giving her and one of her friends alcohol, plead not guilty to the charges filed against him Wednesday (Oct. 16) at the Sequoyah County Courthouse.

Weber is charged with two felony counts of furnishing alcohol to a person under 21 and a misdemeanor count of furnishing alcohol to a minor, according to court documents.

That's after allegations surfaced in September that Weber had sex with an 18-year-old woman while on duty and gave her alcohol. According to investigators, the woman filed an incident report with the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s office claiming she had slept with patrol lieutenant John Weber on numerous occasions and that he’d supplied alcohol and beer to both her and another 18-year-old woman.

The Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation began interviewing potential witnesses Sept. 30. Investigators said they were able to corroborate her claims through motel receipts and more than 6,000 Facebook messages. On at least one occasion, the woman claimed she and Weber had sex while he was on duty at a trailer house east of Sallisaw, according to an incident report.

Investigators said the two felony counts are for providing hard liquor or high-point beer. The misdemeanor is for providing 3.2 beer.

Weber was arrested and booked into the Sequoyah County Jail on October 4. He was later released on a $10,000 bond.

Weber, who is also president of the local Fraternal Order of Police, was placed on unpaid administrative suspension, according to a source familiar with the case.

Weber is set to appear in court again Nov. 20.
