Wednesday Traffic Delays

Rainy weather and construction delays are expected to cause some slowdowns for drivers in the area.

Weather Alert: Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time due to area rain delays.

Northwest Arkansas:

Fayetteville-

  • Expect slowdowns near the Fulbright Expressway due to construction.
  • The City of Fayetteville Transportation Division will close Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard between Block Avenue and S. College Avenue through Friday, October 18, 2013 to replace a failing bridge.
  • Traffic will be limited to one direction eastbound on Indian Trail between Stadium Drive and Razorback Road.  This delay will continue for the next three weeks while construction crews work to build a new trail.

Springdale- From 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the next few days, the state highway and transportation department is planning some major road closures on Highway 71B and Highway 412. Construction is being done on the roads’ surfaces.  The project begins at the Washington County line and extends northward for 18 miles to County Road 40.

Bentonville- North Main Street will be closed during daytime working hours from Legion Lane to Northwest 3rd street for utility work.  The road will be reopened for use at 6 p.m. nightly.  Detour route signs will be posted.

 

River Valley:

I-540- Slowdowns are frequently expected from Van Buren to Fort Smith due to an ongoing highway improvement project.

Van Buren- Drivers should use caution driving on Rena Road due to construction.
