Man Hospitalized In Fatal Crash Now In Critical Condition
The Rogers man hospitalized in a fatal crash last weekend is now in critical condition in a Missouri hospital.
A family member told 5NEWS Oscar A. Sandoval-Romero, 20, suffered several broken bones, punctured lungs and a broken jaw in the Sunday night wreck. He was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo., following the one-vehicle crash after initially being transported to Mercy Hospital in Rogers, according to the Lowell Police Department.
The family of Gleen S. Noriega-Pineda, of Rogers, finished a 24-hour memorial service Friday afternoon for the fatal crash victim. A passenger in the vehicle, Noriega-Pineda was pronounced dead at the scene when emergency crews arrived, police said.
Sandoval-Romero was driving a white Honda Civic along Highway 71B when he lost control of the vehicle at the curve near the North Bloomington Street Pizza Hut. The car skidded across the opposite lanes and struck a utility pole on the east side of the roadway, according to the Lowell Police Department.
