A level four sex offender arrested after he slipped out of a house where he was supposed to be supervised 24 hours a day, 7 days a week will soon return to jail.

Paul McGill,28, was booked in the Crawford County Jail  in August on terroristic threatening charges.

However, McGilll had bonded out of jail Wednesday and was set to return to his Van Buren residence at the 1300 block of Oak Grove Road, but Crawford County Prosecutor Marc McCune contacted Craighead County authorities to have them revoke his probation, according to a post on the prosecutor’s Facebook page.  McGill will now return to jail Thursday.

Jimmy Damante, the Chief Deputy Sheriff of Crawford County, said McGill and his caretaker got into some sort of disturbance or fight in August. Damante said McGill then left the house and traveled on foot to the nearby home of an off-duty police officer.

The off-duty officer and his wife said McGill had a weapon in his hand that looked like a large wrench and was threatening to return to the home he lived in and kill his supervisor. The police officer called the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and deputies arrived to place McGill under arrest.

McGill had to be monitored at the home because he pleaded guilty of one count of sexual indecency with a child and terroristic threatening in Craighead County last year. The charges stemmed from offenses that occurred in 2011, according to court documents.
