Broken Down School Bus Blocks Bella Vista Traffic

Rainy weather across the area along with some road closures may slow your commute.

Weather Alert: Rain in the area may cause slowdowns during morning commutes.

Northwest Arkansas:

Bella Vista: A broken down school bus is blocking one lane of traffic on Highway 71. Arkansas State Police say a south bound lane near Peach Orchard Rd. is blocked by the bus. Bentonville School District spokeswoman Mary Ley says the transmission on the bus went out. She says a group of high school students were on board at the time, but have been picked up by another bus.

Johnson- Road crews have shutdown Ball Street due to flooding.

Benton County- Arkansas State Police are working an accident on Highway 37 near the Missouri state line.  Its unclear if there are any injuries, but this accident may cause slowdowns.

Bentonville- Northwest A Street between Northwest Second and Northwest Third Streets will be closed between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Detour signs will be posted.

Fayetteville-

  • Expect slowdowns near the Fulbright Expressway due to construction.
  • Traffic will be limited to one direction eastbound on Indian Trail between Stadium Drive and Razorback Road.  This delay will continue for the next few weeks while construction crews work to build a new trail.

 

River Valley:

Fort Smith- Road closures are planned on Highway 255 between Massard Road and Chad Colley Blvd. from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

I-540- Slowdowns are frequently expected from Van Buren to Fort Smith due to an ongoing highway improvement project.

Van Buren-

  • Drivers should use caution driving on Rena Road due to construction.
  • Hwy. 59 & 162- Lane closures are planned for short distances on Hwy 162 between 28th St. and 35th Street as well as in the turn lane of Riggs Drive at the intersection with Highway 59.  These closures continue from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
