Deputies found the inmate Thursday morning in Booneville. Authorities said he was found hiding behind a house in Booneville on Sassafras St.
They say he escaped from the Logan County jail Monday morning. Authorities suspended the search for the night, at about 6:30 p.m.
Gary Patrick Topham, 49, escaped from the Logan County Detention Center in Paris while being held on suspicion of drug and failure to appear charges, according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office. Topham left the grounds of the jail Monday in his black and white striped jail uniform, but left his orange flip-flops behind, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He also left his glasses behind.
Topham is five feet, 11 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Anyone who sees him is encouraged to call 911.
