Rogers Man Accused of Rape Arrested

A 24-year-old Rogers man was arrested Saturday (Nov. 2) in connection with raping an underage girl.

Police were investigating the missing persons case of a 12-year-old girl when they found her at a home on N. 2nd Place in Rogers with Jonathan Mendez.

Evidence was collected from the residence that will be tested to confirm the rape, according to a probable cause report.

Mendez told police that he had sex with the girl twice and that it was consensual, according to the report.

Mendez is in the Benton County Jail on $50,000 bond.

He has a criminal history of domestic battery in the third degree, disorderly conduct, driving under the influence and refusal to submit, according to the report.
