An infant and an adult woman were hospitalized early Tuesday (Nov. 12) when a sport utility vehicle slammed into the rear of a delivery truck in Springdale, officials said.
The infant, believed to be about two years old, was in a car seat in the SUV that struck a U.S. Foods delivery truck on South 48th Street near Cypress Point Drive about 8:30 a.m, officials said.
The child and woman, whose names were not immediately released, were transported to Northwest Regional Medical Center-Springdale with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening, officials said. The woman had been driving the SUV, a black Nissan Xterra, officials said.
The truck driver had gotten out of his vehicle before the accident happened and was uninjured, officials said.
Police said citations had not been issued by early Tuesday, but added the accident is still under investigation.
