No Injuries in Spiro School Bus Crash

A pick-up truck collided with a Spiro, Okla. school bus Wednesday morning (Nov.13).

Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the truck was involved in two collisions. OHP said the truck first side-swiped a vehicle within the Spiro city limits. The truck fled the scene and traveled onto Highway 271 where it rear ended the Spiro Public Schools bus near Hamilton Circle, according to the trooper.

Twelve students were on the bus at the time of the accident including ten elementary school students, according to school officials.

The OHP trooper said the driver said he “blacked out” and does not recall how or why the accident happened.

Officers on the scene tell 5NEWS no one was injured.

OHP is now investigating the crash.

No word yet if the driver will be cited.
