Southside Slips Past Rogers In Final Seconds

“Go for the tie at home. Go for the win on the road.”

That’s the old coaches motto.

That wasn’t the motto Southside paid attention to in the opening round of the 7A playoffs.

Southside’s Payton Efurd hauled in an Isaac Jackson touchdown pass with four second left to cut the Rogers lead to 24-23.

The Rebels then went for two. Jackson hit Andrew Barley for the conversion and the 25-24 win.

Southside will travel to Bentonville next week in the 7A quarterfinals.
