Walmart is putting a lot of pressure on Black Friday sales this year.

For the first time, the retailer has announced it will start ad-matching Black Friday offers from Target, Best Buy, and Toys-R-Us one week early.

Customers can bring in toy and electronic ads from other retailers to Walmart stores starting 8 a.m. Friday (Nov. 22).

Big deal. If they can match, why didn’t they offer that price to begin with? Why not beat an advertised price by 5% if additional order placed. That’s a freebie Wal-Mart. :).

“BENTONVILLE, Ark., Nov. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Holiday shoppers don’t have to wait until Black Friday to start shopping for deals at Walmart. At 8 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, Walmart will kick off a pre-Black Friday savings event in stores and online, lowering the prices on popular toys and electronics, to match select Black Friday offers from Target, Toys R’ Us and Best Buy one week early.”
They are not going to ad match all ads. They are just lowering prices a week early on select items.
