Arkansas went down to California 85-77 on Monday in the opening game of the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational. The loss marked the first of the season for the Razorbacks.

Michael Qualls led the Hogs in scoring with a career-high 21 points. He made four three-pointers and scored 17 of his 21 in the second half.

Alandise Harris finished with eight points. He also added a team-high six rebounds, three steals and two blocks. With sophomore Jacorey Williams’ six points and five rebounds, the bench accounted for the Razorback’s top five scorers and top six rebounders.

The Golden Bears won the battle on the glass, outrebounding the Hogs 48-32. Cal’s duo of Richard Solomon and David Kravish combined for 30 points and 22 rebounds, while three others scored in double-digits for the Bears.

Arkansas will take on Minnesota on Tuesday. Tip off is slated for 1 p.m. CT. The game can be seen live on ESPN2.
