A Fayetteville man was arrested Saturday in a nightclub shooting that killed one person in Jonesboro.

Timothy Joe Fields, 33, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder, according to the Jonesboro Police Department. Fields remained Saturday in the Craighead County Detention Center on $500,000 bond, police said.

Fields allegedly shot and killed a 22-year-old man in the parking lot of Club Envisions on Johnson Avenue in Jonesboro in the early hours of Saturday, according to Jonesboro police.

Officers responded to the club shortly before 2 a.m. in reference to a shooting at the location. Responders found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds and transported him to St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, where he later died from his injuries, police said.

Eyewitnesses at the club identified Fields as the shooter. The suspect called the police department Saturday and turned himself in while meeting investigators at a local Walmart parking lot, police said.

Information on the shooting was released via email by Sgt. Doug Formon with the Jonesboro Police Department.

Fields paid personal property taxes in 2012 and 2013 at 1393 North Carriage Way in Fayetteville, according to property records. A search of his name in criminal databases in Washington County shows no felonies.
