Bentonville’s 7A State Championship football game scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. at War Memorial Stadium has been pushed back one week.

Due to winter storm warnings the Arkansas Activities Association has postponed all scheduled games for Dec. 6 and Dec. 7. This will extend the 2013 football season one week for all teams.

“This decision was based on a safety issue,” said AAA executive director Lance Taylor. “We wanted to make sure everyone could travel to Little Rock or the other semifinal locations without hazardous driving conditions. We talked with several of our member schools involved in the playoffs, and we checked with the (War Memorial) stadium. This appears to be the best route to take by extending the season one week.”

Charleston and Booneville were scheduled to play semifinal games Friday night. Those have also been postponed one week.

Here’s the updated schedule:

Bentonville’s 7A title game will be Friday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. at War Memorial Stadium.

Booneville’s 4A semifinal game at Dollarway is Friday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m.

The 4A state title game will be Friday, Dec. 20 at 7 p.m.

Charleston’s 3A semifinal game at home against Earle is Friday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m.

The 3A state title game will be Saturday, Dec. 21 at 6:30 p.m.
